Mengyuan Li is a rising pianist distinguished by international competition wins and performances at major halls worldwide. Currently pursuing her Doctor of Music at the Frost School of Music, she is celebrated for her virtuosity and expressive depth.

Mengyuan Li is a distinguished pianist pursuing a Doctor of Music degree at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, with an expected graduation in May 2027. She completed a Master of Music at the New England Conservatory of Music in May 2024 and a Bachelor of Music at the same institution in May 2022. Mengyuan’s musical foundation was laid at the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School, where she graduated in 2018. Over the years, she has studied with renowned instructors such as Prof. Kevin Kenner at the Frost School of Music, Prof. Haesun Paik and Prof. Pavel Nersessian at the New England Conservatory of Music, and Dr. Bo Tong and Yameng Huang at the Central Conservatory of Music. Her remarkable achievements include winning the Mozart Concerto Competition, where she performed with the Frost Symphony Orchestra in February 2025. In 2024, she earned the Platinum Prize and the Emotional Artistry Special Prize at the Berlioz International Music Competition. Other honors include an Honorable Mention at the Shenzhen Futian National Piano Competition in 2015, First Prize at the TURECK Bach International Piano Competition (Group 3) and a performance at Lincoln Art Center in 2013, and Third Prize at the IMOLA International Competition, Beijing Region, in 2012. She also received the Academic Excellence Award from the Central Conservatory of Music Middle School in 2011-2012. 

Mengyuan has performed at a variety of prestigious venues including Gusman Hall at the Frost School of Music in 2025, Jordan Hall at the New England Conservatory of Music in 2018, 2022, 2023, and 2024, and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing as part of the Rachmaninov Marathon in 2013. She also participated in a number of prominent festivals, including the Piano Texas Music Festival in 2023 and the International Taipei Maestro Piano Festival in 2017. With a growing reputation in the classical music world, Mengyuan continues to captivate audiences through both technical brilliance and emotional depth.

Mengyuan is also a Teaching Assistant at the Frost School of Music and an instructor in the Frost Prep Program, working with students of all ages and skill levels. She has supported young beginners, advanced teens preparing for performances, and adult learners reconnecting with the piano. In both private and group settings, she emphasizes technical development, and an inspiring, enjoyable learning experience tailored to each student’s musical progress.
